Hugo is an entomologist by training. Since the 1980s, he has been involved with agricultural information, and wrote the first AGRIS input manual with a pen in 1984. He works part-time with Wageningen University, and part-time as a consultant for international organisations, for example as content co-ordinator of an FAO IMARK module.
